Seattle

While the real world Seattle is a compact city of 600,000 with a broader metropolitan area of 3-4.5 million, World of Darkness Seattle is a much larger and darker place. While the Apocalypse did not strike Seattle or the Northwest Coast nearly as hard as it did the rest of the world, Seattle is no paradise. Even after the most recent plague unleashed after the Victoria Finale, Seattle is a Wyrm-ridden Scar of over four million densely concentrated humans.

In the rebuilding United States, Seattle remains a a major urban center of industry and particularly technology, and for this reason is home to a large number of Glass Walkers, Bone Gnawers, Children of Gaia, and Technomantic Mages (Virtual Adepts, Sons and Daughters of Ether, and even more so the multiple Conventions of the Technocracy). Laura Newman’s agency United Chord is based here, and she herself occasionally works out of this office. Seattle has a high population of young vampires – survivors of the Anarch Free State, now run wild after the death of the Camarilla Archon Petrodon and general collapse of Camarilla control. A relatively high proportion of Indigenous people in the region, as well as the huge reaches of protected forest surrounding Seattle and nearby in the Olympic Peninsula, mean that both the Uktena and Wendigo typically operate here as well. Historically, the Duwamish and Suquamish people dwelt here, speakers of Lushootseed / Coast Salish languages. Today they have reorganized into the Tulalip Tribes of Washington and many live in the Tulalip Reservation, one hour north of Seattle adjacent to Marysville. Some concentrate in West Seattle, where there is a Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center.
