The Victoria Chronicle

The city of Victoria is a quiet city, spared the horrors of the Apocalypse, yet one host to ancient forces hiding beneath the surface. When a group of unlikely strangers are forced to collaborate against hostile outsiders, what truths will be revealed?

The Story of the Victoria Chronicle

Three unlikely supernatural strangers, forced together, gradually uncover “Victoria’s Secrets.” In this case, the fact that The Compact has used incredibly deadly supernatural assassins (the Nulamal and the terrifying god-birds The Hamatsa) to destroy all vampires or werewolves to enter Vancouver Island since at least the 1950’s, and worse, that the activities of the Compact have somehow hidden at least two greater horrors. First, a dragon is buried under Beacon Hill Park, and it’s slumbering presence has attracted two immortal beings, possibly searching for a door back to Arcadia: Lady Catherine and her husband, the fabled and secretive Meleagaunt. The actions of the characters drive Lady Catherine’s Court to ally with the Compact, perhaps dooming the city. Second, and possibly worse, the apparent power behind the Compact is the zealot proto-Oracle Unagilis, who seeks to tear the entire city of Victoria out of the world, creating a paradise island in the Umbra – and leaving humanity annihilated behind him. He has quietly enslaved most aspects of the Totem Wendigo and draws on the power of the Dragon of Annwn fearlessly and recklessly – risking freeing it and tearing open a Gate to unknown locales. His power waxes so great that the Wyrm cannot manifest its powers in Victoria, yet Wyld Taint begins to infect all life with uncontrollable growth and madness. As the characters realize the scope of Unagilis’s plan, they race to oppose him, accepting aid even from the most unlikely allies: the insane Ice and her murderous army, the manipulative lord of the Unseelie Court Baron Padraig Ailil, the hideously-contaminated vampire Itonkwa, the undead crime lord Rhett Whirlington, the pack of utterly ruthless Welsh Fianna under the uncanny Banson, and the utterly untrustworthy Changelings Mad Phoebe and Nemed.

Despite these allies, the Victoria Chronicle ended in defeat and despair for our characters and victory for the Compact, Unagilis, and the immortal Fae lords Cadi and Melwas, as described in the Victoria Finale.
